The innovative Green Genie pressurised filters offer the ultimate in combined system technology as well as a number of unique features which make them extremely user friendly.
All models include as standard: specially developed profile foam, Japanese filter matting, plastic bio media and, with outdoor safety in mind, low voltage electrics.
The closed pressure systems contain more good bacteria than a similar sized surface filter, making them much more efficient in eliminating harmful toxins and purifying the pond water.
Being pressurised the filters can be sited or partially buried below the top of the waterfall making them much easier to hide.
All Green Genie Pressure filters incorporate the EasiCleanse’TM backwash cleaning system, which means the filter does not need to be opened to be cleaned.
High performance Pressure Filter System with integrated Ultraviolet Steriliser/Clarifier (Fig. I)
1 Water is pumped from the pond into the Pressure Filter. It is then directed tangentially, creating a mini vortex which settles out the suspended solids. At the same time the microscopic algae is exposed to the UV light causing the particles to die and clump together.
2 The water is then forced up through the heavy duty Japanese filter matting which captures the
suspended particles and the algae clumps, preventing their return to the pond.
3 Almost solids free, the water now passes through the bio-balI filter medium, where friendly nitrifying bacteria eliminate toxins and other harmful pollutants.
4 Discs of coarse and fine profiled filtration foam complete the purifying cycle.
5 The water is then returned directly to the pond via a hose or waterfall.
Backwash Cleaning System
EasiCleanse “clean-with-a-twist” (Fig. 2)
All Green Genie Pressure Filters incorporate our specially developed EasiCleanse backwash cleaning system, which means the filter does not need to be opened to be cleaned.
1 Move the mode selection switch from ‘Work’ to ‘Clean’.
2 The water flow is now reversed through the filter media.
3 The solids are expelled from the Pressure Filter via the UV chamber and waste connection.
The species of algae that cause the appearance of ‘green water’ are so small they pass through even the finest filtration medium. The Lotus range of Pressure Filter UVs combat this problem by causing these particles to stick together making them simple to remove by the filter media. The sterilising effect will help reduce the level of pond bacteria, which means happy. healthy fish.
To calculate your pond volume (litres):
Multiply average length (metres) x average width (metres) x average depth (metres) x 1000
To convert litres to gallons: divide by 4.54
THESE UNITS MUST NOT BE IMMERSED IN WATER. PUMP NOT INCLUDED.
