Planting
Water plants are not only essential in a pond for the biological balance. To a large extent, they also create the 'face' of the pond. The planting should not dominate the pond, it should highlight it. Oxygenating plants are essential for ensuring clear water. A good ratio is one quarter to one third of the water surface reserved for pond plants.
Using plant baskets makes it easier to care for the plants and prevents the soil from drifting in the water. Plant baskets are available in a range of types and sizes, depending on the type of plant. Special lily baskets are available for water lilies.
Apart from the big lily basket, all Ubbink plant baskets have a fine mesh. In order to provide further protection against aquatic soil being flushed out it is recommended to use basket liners or plant bags in the plant baskets.
