Aqua Air outdoor pond air pumps
All ponds suffer a reduction in dissolved oxygen in hot and humid weather conditions.
Although aquatic plants produce oxygen during daylight hours, they consume oxygen at night. This can often result in an oxygen deficit first thing in the morning.
The beneficial bacteria in biological filters require oxygen to survive. Aiding this requirement with an air pump can only improve their performance in cleansing the pond from toxic waste.
These very quiet air pumps add essential oxygen to ponds that may become depleted during hot or humid weather conditions whilst assisting the removal f toxic gasses to the atmosphere. During winter months, they have the added benefit of keeping areas of the pond surface frost-free allowing the water within to breathe. By placing an air-stone into an area of the existing biological filter, he result in added oxygen will give added advantages to its operation.

TIP
For limited periods only, use the air pump to supply your filter system with oxygen, because many filtering processes only work well when there is plenty of oxygen present.
