Pond Skimmer dramatically improves the appearance of any pond by removing surface debris including leaves and floating algae threads. Excess protein foam, often caused by an imbalance of the pond and exaggerated further with good water movement from fountains and waterfalls is also removed resulting in crisp and clear water.

Pond Skimmer connects quickly and easily to the suction side of any “Aqua Craft” filtration pump with a performance of 2,000 - 6,000 LPH. Large waste particles that are drawn in to the skimmer are trapped in the strainer assembly for easy emptying at a later stage whilst foam and smaller debris are taken out of suspension in the existing filter system.

“Pond Skimmer” can be either installed as a permanent fixture (luring pond installation, or added to any existing pond using the anchor and weight fittings included. Once fitted, pond water is removed from the pond surface rather than the pump position which in mild winters has the added benefit of preventing total freeze-over of the pond surface permitting gas exchange to continue.
Increased or reduced pond water depth due to evaporation or rainfall is not a problem with “Pond Skimmer” with its automatic adjustment to varying water levels.
For best results, remove water from both the bottom and the surface of the pond simultaneously.This can be achieved by using one large filter pump or two smaller ones.
Surface skimming is particularly important in the months of spring when foaming is more likely and in the autumn when falling leaves are possible.
Although one skimmer is capable of ‘pulling” surface water from a wide area,
in very large ponds multiple units can be used for greater effect.
Surface skimming is to be avoided in conjunction with pressurised filters due to the fear of air-locks.
